From today’s news feeds it seems that customer’s reactions to your online presence is now having a pretty damaging and direct effect on your business both on and offline. It seems that even large store groups are not immune with the recently sold for a £1 Homebase Stores having been voted the worst in a survey held recently by consumer group Which? who asked 10.000 people to rate the most popular online shops based on their experiences in the past 6 months – looking at price, product range, deliveries, product quality and the returns process.
Voted the worst was Homebase.co.uk which achieved a score of 55% with shoppers finding the site difficult to navigate and not always up to date with stock information. Coupled with a poor product range, ‘bog standard’ quality and relatively poor value for money.
Others in the list included Sportsdirect.com and Dorothyperkins.com that both scored 61 per cent.
With the availability of systems to check and report on your stock levels and co-ordinate these across multiple sales channels as well as online systems that check and display how customers find and move through your website there is no reason for your business to suffer with a poor customer impression.
