We all deserve some positive news – don’t you think?
Since the onset of recent global events, we’ve observed a growing influx of emails from businesses either promoting low-interest credit or valuing your enterprise. While these might be interpreted as negative signs, they could also indicate that companies still perceive opportunities for profit somewhere.
The prevailing sentiment we gather is that, during times that are, shall we say, uncomfortably uncertain, smaller, more agile companies can not only survive but can also thrive in the right market niche.
Fortunately, our own company has the capability to adapt as market demands shift, focusing more on assisting businesses and startups that require help with online launches, or are struggling with the so-called ‘simple’ template-based solutions that actually consume both time and resources, due to the challenge of adapting your concept to their framework, rather than the other way around, as it should be.
Regrettably, we all now must be more rigid than ever regarding payment terms and the pursuit of payments. In the past, you might have thought, “they will pay eventually,” but now it’s crucial to recognise the damage that inconsistent payments can inflict – see our recent blog by clicking the below button.
In large corporations, where decisions can take days or even weeks, we, as SMEs, can assess and react within hours, adjusting our messaging, services, or offerings to better align with the current market demands. This is our advantage. When long-term predictions are uncertain, responsiveness is key. Too often in large organisations, a decision is made that, after some time, proves to be suboptimal, yet they struggle to change direction mid-course, often opting to absorb the issues and losses due to their size. But for how long can that last?
Thus, the message to our fellow SMEs must be: “leverage your size and adaptability to change direction as often as necessary while navigating these turbulent waters.”
